I am not a religious person but consider myself to be very spiritual. Christmas isn't even about Christianity, it is simply about Jesus Christ a man (whether you believe in him or not) who lived a great life and did many wonderful things for people. I personally believe that he is my savior and God, but even then why not celebrate for the great man who he is and has changed so many lives. So I ask why do some celebrate holidays for bunnies, groundhogs, and old men yet not for Jesus?
I pray that everyone is celebrating the true Christmas if they are celebrating it at all. My Christmas this year will be one that many may consider "boring" and I have not many gifts this year. But I will take it in a way to think, learn, reflect, and talking to God. I pray that all of you have a great holiday season, try and celebrate all the holidays! But most of all since we are on this day, have a Merry Christmas!
This is a poem I wrote when thinking about Christmas just a few minutes ago
"When I Was A Boy" by James Widdicombe
When I was a boy
I could never figure out the truth
Behind this joy.
Toys, fun, no school
Everyone thought these things were cool.
But I knew there was something else.
However, I did not know what.
It was a long time coming but now I realize
That it is Christ who has
Opened my eyes.
So now
The 25th of December is upon us
And we must remember that it is about Jesus.
People forget why this is a special time of year.
They think of gifts and that is true
But do not know which gift.
Christmas
Is about the gift of salvation,
The gift of Christ,
Full of grace.
That is why we have this glorious celebration.
All the children sing and dance
And jump for joy.
Now I have found what I was looking for
When I was a boy.
